Beetles
Melobasis cuprifera, Shining pea jewel beetle Swan Coastal Plain, Perth, Western Australia I always seem to find these small jewel beetles on Jacksonia (stinkwood) bushes in Banksia woodland on the coastal plain. Their antics are quite un-beetle like, since they are very active and will buzz from tree to tree almost like a small wasp or bee. Photographed for the Meet Your Neighbours international nature photography project in Perth, Western Australia. Canon EOS 7D with Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro lens; 1/250s at f/16 ISO 250, flash fired: from hand.
